Chicago Nature

This ongoing body of work is made within a garden I cultivate in my urban backyard and parks and nature cared for by the city. Working with seasonal cycles of growth, bloom, and decline, the images trace the shifting life of plants shaped by both care and environment.

Using the wet plate collodion process, each tintype is sensitive to time, light, and the conditions of its making. Flowers and trees are approached as portraits. In these moments, the garden moves beyond cultivation and into a space of transformation, where beauty and decay are inseparable.
